Our History
Troplant Corp was founded to bridge a simple gap: Africa has world-class agricultural products, but global buyers struggle to access them reliably for agricultural export. With roots in Nigeria and operations in Canada, we set out to build a modern and community-focused supply chain that connects farmers to international markets, including oil seed sourcing and starches. Starting by partnering with farmers in northern Nigeria, we developed a streamlined export process—cleaning, grading, testing, packaging, and shipping to global buyers. Today, Troplant Corp continues to expand its sourcing network to East African, Asian, South, and North American markets, focusing on agricultural imports like wheat gluten. Our story is one of quality, transparency, and the belief that African agriculture deserves a trusted global platform.
Our Story
Troplant Corp was established to address long-standing inefficiencies within West Africa’s agricultural export ecosystem. As global demand for oil seed sourcing and other high-value commodities continues to rise, buyers often encounter challenges such as inconsistent supply, poor quality control, and limited traceability.
Founded by Canadian engineer and business executive Nnamdi Umolu, Troplant Corp merges international business standards with in-depth local knowledge of African agricultural systems. By leveraging strategic partnerships and expertise in manufacturing, automation, and supply chain engineering, the company has developed a structured sourcing model that emphasizes quality and efficiency.
We commenced operations by forming direct partnerships with cooperatives, trade commissions, government ministries, and farming clusters across Africa. To ensure compliance with import requirements for Canada, the EU, the US, Mexico, and Asia, the company introduced standardized processing systems for agricultural imports, including starches and wheat gluten.
